I supply a variety of design and consulting services to the interactive entertainment and other new media industries as a member of the International Hobo game design consortium. My work includes original design, game analysis, creative writing, and serving as an advisor to startup companies and venture capital firms. I also do patent litigation work.
Resumé - Game Credits - Client List
I have 25 years' experience in the game industry, 8 of them at Electronic Arts, and 15 published titles. I also have a PhD from the University of Teesside, UK, for my thesis on interactive storytelling. Visit my resumé, game credits, and client list for more details.
I run hands-on workshops on various aspects of game design, including mechanics, character creation, interactive storytelling, and other subjects. Both students and junior-level professionals have found it worthwhile. If you have a group of 8 or more, this is a fun and informative way to spend a day. I also have some testimonials from happy clients.
I often give lectures at conferences, on college campuses, and at art and animation festivals such as Ars Electronica. Here is a list of all my lectures, including slides and transcripts of some of them. To find out about having me lecture at your
company, school, or event, visit this page as well.
